What Are My Skills?

  • Microsoft Azure

    While at WANdisco, I supported clients deploying into Microsoft Azure for Big Data services. This entailed developing demonstration environments on Azure infrastructure, and leveraging many Azure services to facilitated massive-scale Big Data migrations. I regularly deployed lab environments into Azure utilizing Security, Network, Compute, Storage, Catalog, and other Infrastructure and Platform services.

    I achieved the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator credential in February of this year. I am currently working toward my Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, and expect to have that complete within this calendar year.

  • Operational Support

    As System Support Engineer at Sun Microsystems, I provided operational support to many large-scale customer environments. Activities included providing technical assistance, managing incidents, and providing timely information around Reliability, Availability, and Support. I also managed an extensive compute lab comprised of hundreds of Unix systems in support of a software development group at Sun Microsystems.

  • Process Automation

    At WANdisco, I used process automation technologies, such as RedHat Ansible, to automate repetitive and manual tasks such as lab deployments, and systems maintenance. I developed several detailed Ansible scripts to automate and maintain deployments into Azure, AWS, and GCP.

  • Sales Engineering

    I have more than 20 years experience in Sales Engineering. Previous Sales Engineering roles include Technical Specialist and Enterprise Architect at Sun Microsystems, Solutions Architect and Principal Architect at Sigma Solutions, Principal Architect at Exebridge, and Senior Solutions Architect at WANdisco.

  • SLDC

    I was involved in the Software Development Life Cycle deployed as part of WANdisco’s Agile implementation by regularly attending developer meetings, providing feedback on customer experience, communicating bugs found while deploying into customer environments, and communicating software feature requests.
