Throughout my career, my ability to adapt to change has been key to maintaining my relevance and success. Technology is in constant change, requiring continuously learning new skills, and assuming new roles. I have successfully pivoted back and forth between roles of service technician, technical architect, and sales. As technology has evolved, I have gone from being a world-class Unix technician, to a well-seasoned pre-sales technology generalist, to a successful sales account executive, and back to a cloud technologist focussing on big-date migrations. I am accustomed to wearing many hats, and can seamlessly shift between these roles.

Agile
WANdisco leveraged the Agile methodology of Project Management in their development efforts. While I was not directly involved in development work at WANdisco, I did interact with development teams on a daily basis, such as when filing bugs and customer feature requests. Awareness of the continuous collaboration and improvement processes was critical to successfully engaging with these teams.

Amazon EC2
At Exebridge and WANdisco, I worked extensively with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). This includes building and maintaining production virtual compute environments in support of Microsoft SQL, Active Directory, SharePoint, as well as lab environments running RHEL and Ubuntu Linux. I attained the Amazon Technical Professional and Amazon Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Certifications in 2018.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)
At WANdisco, I interacted with AWS on a daily basis, developing demonstration labs to showcase WANdisco software. This entailed Security, Networking, Compute, Storage, Data Catalog, and other services offered by AWS.
While my AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is currently expired, I did earn that credential in May, 2018 while working at Exebridge. I was tasked developing and leading a sales practice focussed around Amazon Web Services. This required leading a team of technicians through the AWS certification process, while building relationships with AWS sales and technical teams.
I developed and sold an extensive hybrid architecture, spanning multiple on-premises locations and AWS cloud services to support 300 technicians even during mass disruptions, such as what happened with Hurricane Laura in 2020.

Ansible
I developed several extensive Ansible scripts to quickly deploy lab environments into Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform. I also used Ansible to maintain and update installed software stacks in these lab environments.
