What Are My Skills?

  • Technical Presentations

    I have delivered countless technical presentations throughout my career. This includes online presentations and demonstrations over business communications software such as Zoom or Teams, as well as in-person presentations and demonstrations at customer locations and trade-show events. I am proficient at building Power Point presentations, as well as delivering unscripted technical presentations and discussions.

  • Technical Specifications Development

    Technical Specifications Development involves constructing a detailed plan that outlines a project’s requirements, constraints, and objectives. This is a crucial part of determining business use-case, and is a critical factor in creating successful outcomes. This has been a necessary component in all of my Architect roles throughout my career.

  • Technical Training

    I have attended and delivered countless technical trainings throughout my career. I am continually developing new technical skills through self study, online training, and through formal training. I have trained customers, peers, and students on a wide range of technical topics. I believe the best way to learn technology is to teach it to others.

  • TOGAF

    While not using TOGAF directly, I have applied the generic TOGAF skills of Leadership, Team Work, Inter-personal Skills, Oral and Written Communications, Logical Analysis, Steak-holder Management and Risk Management.

    While at Exebridge, I simultaneously performed the roles of Account Executive and Principal Architect while crafting, selling, and supporting an all-encompassing Enterprise-wide technical architecture for a chemical plant operating out of Lake Charles, Louisiana. This required detailed planning and coordination with business units across the enterprise.

    The Open Group Architecture Framework skills I learned while employed at Sun Microsystems was an important part of my success.

  • Unix Systems

    I have held advanced certifications in the Solaris operating system. I have lead the installation of and have supported many massive Unix system clusters from Sun Microsystems. I have extensive experience with Unix systems such as University of California, Berkley (BSD), Microsoft (Xenix), Sun Microsystems (SunOS/Solaris), HP/HPE (HP-UX) and IBM (AIX).

    I am also proficient in RedHat Linux environments such as RHEL, CentOS, Fedora, and Oracle Linux as well as Debian Linux environments such as Ubuntu.
